Dance Educators of America Competition
We just wanted to let you know about our competition last weekend (April 16-17) in Richmond for the Dance Educators of America. We took 32 dances to be judged and we did very well.

  • Our Hannah Martin received a Gold for her solo called "The Wizard and I ".
  • Andrew Prowant received a Gold and second place overall for his solo "Beat It".
  • Erica Encinas received a silver for her solo "You Raise Me Up".
  • Kaila Pettus received a Platinum, second place overall for her "Free at Last" solo and two golds for her "24 Hours" and "I'm A Mean Old Lion" solos. Kaila also revived 3 specialty awards for her dancing skills and emotional execution in her solos.
  • Our senior trio "Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now" received a gold and 5th place overall.
  • Our Dance & Theatre Unlimited sister group received 3 silvers for their trios.
  • We are very proud of our youngest competition group for receiving a specialty award called the 'Dance Spirit Award' for their Classical Ballet dance.
  • The whole company danced in a production called "Revolution" which also received a specialty award for 'Most Innovative Idea.'

For our groups we received 5 gold and 15 silver awards. Altogether we had 41 dance company members participate in the competition and workshop. Miss Ingrid is very proud of her dancers and all of the parents who give them the gift of dance. Our dancers work hard and it pays off! Congratulations Interpose !!

Christmas Giving 2004
Ingrid's Interpose Dance Company once again participated in the Christmas Mother program this past holiday season, helping a family of six children ages 4-11 along with their parents. They also helped and provided Christmas for 8 young people ages of 11-18 at the Rosey Grier Youth Pavilion, Inc. The Pavilion is an emergency shelter for kids who run into trouble in their current family or foster family environments. Interpose is always delighted to help make Christmas a little more special for those in need over the holiday season, and feels truly blessed to have such great opportunities to do so through the Christmas Mother and Rosey Grier programs.
